How do I make a booking?

Simply fill out the contact form via the booking page with all your details and any other important information. Alternatively you can email us directly at or on Facebook @VelvetineMakeup

Do I come to you or will you come to me?

We are an on-location mobile service so we will come to you. For your convenience we can travel to where you need, whether it be to your event/function , a motel,  or any home address. 

Do I need to do anything with my hair and face to prepare for my booking? 

Hair - Please ensure your hair is completely dry on the day of your booking.

It is preffered that you wash your hair the day prior to your event and ensure it is completely dry, in order for our stylists to create the best longlasting style. Damp hair will not hold any style for long and this will effect the time schedule.

Face - Moisturized face is preferred but not essential as our MUA will have this available prior to makeup application. If you are using your own please ensure it is a non greasy formula or 15SPF or lower as this may cause flashback in photos.

Do I need to provide anything?

We will provide all hair and makeup products and equipment that we will be using. If there are any specific or decorative hair accessories that you would like, then you must provide these and we will be happy to incorporate them into your style.  Lovisa, Equip or online stores can be a great place to look for these.

Do I get lashes with my makeup?

Yes all makeups come with optional false lashes. Options are individual, half strip or full strip set. These are temporary wearing lashes which will last for 1 day and can be removed by gently peeling off.

Alternative options are lash extentions which do look amazing.

We offer a mobile stylist who can do lash extensions in your own home, check out our packages which include lash extensions. These are the most popular style of 3D flare lashes using high quality lash glue.

Can I get my eyebrows shaped with a makeup application?

Yes but only if this has been discussed prior to a makeup booking with our MUA. If there is a small amount of hair for removal we will use the tweezer method, for a complete eyebrow shape please find a suitable beauty specialist to do this prior to your booking date.

Do I need to have a trial?

Trials for weddings are highly recommended. Trials allow our MUA/Stylist and clients to discuss, demonstrate and keep a record of colors and styles in a relaxed time frame and together acheive the most suitable and desired look . This also allows for a more efficient time schedule on the day of your event.

How can I prepare my skin to look its best prior to my special event?

Facials are great to get your skin looking tops before your event. Its best to get facials at least 2  weeks prior to your date, this can avoid any breakouts on your day. Be aware of what you use for facials or masks as allergic reactions can occur. Exercise/sweat is the best way to get that beautiful skin 'glow' however you choose to do it and don't forget lots of water!

Is all makeup hypoallergenic?

We do not carry specific hypoallergenic makeup, however all makeup we use is authentic, high quality brands that have been tested dermatologicaly.  If you have any known allergies or are sensitive to certain ingredients in some makeup products  then please discuss this with us when booking.  If you have specific makeup you would like used, this can be discussed with our MUA and we will be happy to apply it for you.
